Like most ideas, I found this one roaming the vast and unpredictable terrain that exists between 5am and being officially awake.
The initial idea was, as always, simple: what if Oakland celebrated the holidays by making all of the street lights flash red and green? I started going through archival footage (awake by now), and while I couldn’t find any shots of vintage street lights, I did find some interesting and curious footage that would pad out the story quite nicely.
