Here is a bass track recorded straight in. Note the buzz that’s in the original (sorry). No EQ or other treatments that I would normally use when sending a signal out, so it’s very much the low-end driving the sc-50.

VERSION 1:

7:1 ratio, fast attack, slow release. Not much input gain.

VERSION 2:

infinity:1 ratio, fast attack, fast release. Plenty of input gain to drive the distortion on the transient.

VERSION 3:

3:1 ratio, slower attack, long release. Lots of input gain, but a lower ratio so that it saturates but doesn’t get dirty.
