Rhyolite

Like pretty much everyone else who’s ever seen Guy Roland’s short film, Pacer, I was inspired to think differently about stop motion and how it could be used to tell stories. I lack Mr. Roland’s rigor and analytical thinking, as well as his patience, but wanted to create something that expresses similar ideas with my sloppier, looser aesthetic. I also took advantage of some software tricks that wouldn’t be available when Pacer was made.

This is one of my initial tests of my version of this idea. Shot with a Canon 5DmII and a lens baby squeeze-focus lens.
